Broccoli Casserole – from Nyara – Maxwell 5th Grade
2/3 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli
2/3 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2/3 cup instant rice
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 Tablespoon and 1 teaspoon butter
1/3 (16 ounces) jar processed cheese sauce
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Cook rice using directions on the box
2. Saute the onions in butter until done
3. Cook broccoli using directions on the package, then strain out extra water
4. Mix together broccoli, mushroom soup, rice, onion, butter and cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then spoon into an oven-proof pan.
5. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
