Broccoli and Cheese Dip – from Nyara – Maxwell Elementary 5th Grade

Niyara Maxwell 5th Grade - Made a Broccoli Badge

5/8 slice bacon

1/8 (10 ounce) package frozen broccoli

1/2 teaspoon water

3 Tablspoons and 1/2 teaspoon shredded Cheddar cheese

2 1/2 teaspoons mayonnaise

1/8 teaspoon ground white pepper

2 1/2 teaspoons sour cream

1/4 teaspoon yellow mustard.

1.  Place bacon in a deep skillet.  Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown.  Drain, crumble and set aside.

2.  Place broccoli and water in a medium saucepan.  Cover and bring to a boil.  Cook 5 minutes.  Uncover, continue cooking 2 to 3 minutes, until tender. Remove from heat and drain.

3.  In a saucepan, mix the Cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, white pepper, sour cream and mustard.  Cook and stir over medium heat until well blended and warm.  Stir in the crumbled bacon and cooked broccoli.  Transfer to a dish and serve.

Serves 4 people
